About Artist

International mixed media artist Philippa Langrish recently moved back to Morzine in Portes du Soleil after living in Asia and America for the last 8 years. Whilst in Asia she learnt the ancient craft of wood and rubber cut to create original relief prints. This technique is applied to her new collection which depicts the importance of our communal green spaces as places to reflect, heal, inspire, protect and cherish.

It is often found that in times of despair nature becomes our comfort and solace. Now that the natural world is in crisis it is time to turn the table and offer tenderness and care to our surroundings. By carving both the figure and landscape with the same linear strokes, her artworks show the figure as not only a part of nature but inextricably linked to it.

Philippa works as a graphic illustrator for the global environmental NGO Not1More. Her work with Not1More which recently centered around the organisation’s participation in the Cop26 Climate Summit and the London to Glasgow cycle “Together We Ride” continues to inspire the artwork’s themes of protecting the natural landscape, the people who depend on it, and connecting to our precious roots.

Philippa was selected as a street artist by Bonifacio Arts Foundation to create a large scale street mural in Bonifacio Global City (Manila). She has created a mural in the public space at Alliance Francaise Manille and was part of the international street art project Meeting of Styles in Manila. Philippa is a member of the Printmakers of the Philippines Association. Her work has also been featured in Elle Decoration and on the Peoples Television Network (Philippines).

Philippa is regularly commissioned to create personalised pieces of art and host events for individuals and businesses. Her clients include East Vantage, Shangri La Boutique, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens (Miami), PLAY Studio (Miami). Her work has been installed in private homes, hotels and offices around the world including Martinique, New York, Hawaii, Washington D.C, Miami, India, London (U.K), Paris, French Alps, Philippines and Australia.
