More about this artwork

Telepheriques II by Steph Fonteyn is a striking ski slope painting made digitally that captures the distinctive rhythm and structure of alpine lift systems. Created as a digital painting on an iPad, the artwork reflects Fonteyn’s modern approach to depicting mountain landscapes and ski resort architecture.

The composition features chairlifts travelling steadily across layered slopes rendered in bold colour. With no skiers or people present, the viewer’s attention is drawn to the elegant geometry of the lift towers and cables stretching across the mountainside. This simplified perspective transforms the scene into a contemporary ski slope painting that focuses on pattern, colour and movement rather than activity on the slopes.

British artist Steph Fonteyn, now based in Switzerland, is known for her vibrant alpine artworks inspired by the landscapes and infrastructure of the Alps. Her digital painting technique allows her to build rich layers of colour and texture while maintaining the expressive feel of traditional painting.

Released as a limited edition print, Telepheriques II brings a modern alpine character to interiors ranging from ski chalets to contemporary homes. The strong graphic composition and uplifting colour palette create a distinctive focal point while celebrating the quiet beauty of the mountain environment.
