More about this artwork

Sunny Spell II by Steph Fonteyn is a vibrant alpine composition released as part of her collection of contemporary ski art prints. Created as a digital painting on an iPad, the artwork captures the mood of a bright winter day in the mountains.

The scene centres on chairlifts gliding silently across a sunlit ski resort landscape. Without skiers or figures, the composition highlights the elegant geometry of the lift lines against the snowy slopes and cloudy alpine sky. The stillness of the scene allows the viewer to appreciate the rhythm and balance of the mountain infrastructure within the wider landscape.

Steph Fonteyn is a British artist based in Switzerland whose work is inspired by the visual culture of alpine resorts. Her distinctive style blends bold colour with simplified forms, creating dynamic images that sit between landscape and abstraction. Working digitally allows her to layer texture and colour while retaining the expressive qualities of a painting.

As one of Fonteyn’s most uplifting ski art prints, Sunny Spell II brings warmth and optimism to an interior. The soft palette makes it particularly suited to contemporary ski chalets, mountain apartments or modern homes that celebrate alpine living.

Each print is released as a limited edition and reflects Fonteyn’s ongoing exploration of the beauty and design of ski resort landscapes.
